Pat Dix, 65, died unexpectedly in her sleep at home in October of 2009.
As an active member in the Horseless Carriage Club, AACA, and several other car clubs, Pat was known for her organizational skills, ready smile, and eager willingness to help with anything that needed to be done.
Pat was probably best known to HCCA members as "The Rivet Lady" at Hershey. A partner in The Big Flats River Company with her husband Jim, Pat sold rivets and cheerfully dispensed knowledgeable advice on the craft. They were often accompanied by their golden retrievers ready to greet customers.
Enthusiastic tour participants for many years, Pat and Jim, put on two HCCA tours of their own, the first in 1997 in Mansfield, PA, and more recently the 2008 "slow Roads Through The Finger Lakes" 1 & 2 Cylinder tour in Painted Post, NY.
The couple handled registration for the Brass in Bucks County tour. Ask Clay Green how he has been able to keep such a willing group of tour workers, and one of the answers would be the promise of a bowl of Pat's award winning chili for dinner at the planning meeting held annually at Hershey.
Pat was a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira NY and was currently a Medical Case Manager for United Case Management Services and was Chairman of the Board for Pathways, Inc. A truly giving person, she was a long time member and past president of the Elmira Heights Rotary club, and a member of the Ladies Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Pat is survived by Jim, her husband of 44 years, a son and daughter in law, and 3 grandchildren. Her generosity of spirit is sorely missed.
